SORD Smock Description
Produced with feedback from operators and already in use in some areas of interest around the world. [see independent product review]
Multicam® and ATACS® versions are produced from 100% NYCO Material. Tan version produced from Ripstop cotton.
Smock features a generous hood. Instead of the usual wire common in most smock designs, we replaced it with a more pliable tubing instead.
The smock features ELEVEN pockets (five around the waist, four on the chest and two on each bicep).
The bicep pockets consist of a large zipper opening main pouch, with a smaller top opening pocket for range cards, etc.
The outer face of the bicep pockets features a large 4” x 4” Velcro panel for attaching IFF, ANFs, etc, however if this feature is not needed, each garment comes with a spare panel of matching material to cover this feature up.
The four chest pockets consist of two large pockets with button closure and two side zip opening pouches for easy access while wearing body armour or chest rigs. The two main pockets feature large slotted buttons for quick and easy access while wearing gloves or with numb fingers.
In the centre of the chest on the left side there is a zipper opening to allow access to chest pockets on any garment worn underneath the smock. The remaining five pockets around the waist (four same size as chest pocket, fifth double sized) also sport large slotted buttons and can be used to stash gloves, rations or just about anything else to boost your load carrying ability if required.
The smock also features a large pit opening on each side which when undone allow the wearer to dispose of unwanted body heat. Each forearm is reinforced with matching 1000D cordura for those unexpected trips to the ground.
The lower forearm of each side also features four tie off points for gloves, etc.
The Smock is not water-proof.

""Best Freedom of Movement in any smock I have used (have owned 3 others, not even close to SORD smock). Liked waist cord feature, kept heat in when pulled tight, could ventilate when left loose. Armpit zips are brilliant!""

GREAT DESIGN
By: Bill Jeans on 8 January 2022This cousin of the well-known British battle smock is an upgrade on a fine design. I bought mine four or five years ago and have worn it regularly, including extensively in the field. You can't wear it out. You can LIVE in this thing and carry more kit than you need without a ruck. If they ever do a run in OD I will order a second one. You won't regret a purchase.

Nice
25 March 2021Very generous cut (make sure to pay attention to sizing specifications before ordering). Pockets have tons of room, nice freedom of movement. I like the tubing in the hood compared to wire in other smocks. The extra matching material to cover up the velcro if not using patches was nice touch. Happy with purchase and looking to buy in another color.
